On June 8, 2024, the Liberian Hojjaj (pilgrims) departed from Roberts International Airport (RIA) for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform the sacred rites of Hajj. The atmosphere was filled with joy and spiritual anticipation as pilgrims, dressed in their Ihram garments, gathered with family members and well-wishers who came to offer prayers and farewell blessings.
The send-off was orderly and heartfelt, reflecting the significance of the journey ahead. The National Muslim Council of Liberia extends its deep appreciation to the airport authorities and the Government of Liberia for their cooperation and for ensuring a smooth and dignified departure process. Their support allowed for easy access to boarding and contributed to the overall success of the travel arrangements.
This moment marks a spiritual milestone in the lives of the 235 registered pilgrims, as they embark on this once-in-a-lifetime journey to the Holy Land.
