Monrovia, Liberia – In anticipation of the inauguration of President-elect Joseph Nyumah Boakai, an intercessory prayer service was held at the historic Benson Street Mosque in Monrovia. The event brought together members of the Muslim Ummah, religious leaders, and stakeholders from across the Islamic community in Liberia.
Organized by the National Muslim Council of Liberia, the umbrella organization representing all Muslims in the country, the gathering served as a moment of spiritual reflection and national unity.
In his brief remarks, President-elect Boakai emphasized his commitment to unity and religious tolerance. He assured attendees that he will serve as a president for all Liberians, regardless of religious affiliation, and expressed his deep respect for the Muslim community.
The intercessory prayer symbolized the strong bond between religious groups in Liberia and reaffirmed the importance of peace, cooperation, and mutual respect as the country prepares for a new chapter under President Boakai’s leadership.
