The Inter-Religious Council of Liberia (IRCL) extends its deepest condolences to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Government, and the people of the State of Qatar following the passing of the Former Emir and Father Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who died on July 12, 2026.8.5

In keeping with international diplomatic protocols, members of the IRCL leadership signed the Book of Condolence at the Embassy in honor of the late Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and in recognition of his service to the people of Qatar.

The delegation was headed by Alhaji Abraham Fumbah Sherif, President of the Inter-Religious Council of Liberia (IRCL), and included Dr. Rev. Christopher W. Toe, Secretary General of the Liberia Council of Churches (LCC), and Alhaji A. F. Kuku Reeves, Secretary General of the National Muslim Council of Liberia (NMCL).

The IRCL expressed its prayers and solidarity with the leadership, royal family, and citizens of Qatar during this period of mourning, while reaffirming the strong friendship and cooperation between Liberia and Qatar.
