The African Faith Actors Network for Climate Justice successfully held its launch program today, combining outdoor and indoor activities that emphasized unity, purpose, and environmental stewardship. The event attracted participation from faith-based organizations, Christians, Muslims, youth groups, students, and other stakeholders committed to addressing climate justice.
Outdoor Program
The event commenced with a walking march from the Monrovia City Hall through to 15th Street, symbolizing solidarity and collective action against climate injustice. Participants carried banners and placards with messages advocating for environmental preservation and social responsibility, drawing attention to the importance of faith-based leadership in the fight against climate change.
Indoor Program
The indoor ceremony was held at the Liberia Council of Churches (LCC) Conference Hall. It featured a well-organized agenda planned by the Program Committee, led by Rev. Dr. Christopher W. Toe, with support from team members.
Highlights of the program included:
- Welcome Remarks: Delivered by representatives of the organizing committee and faith leaders.
- Keynote Address: Delivered on behalf of Hon. Wilmont Paye by Hon. Fahnseth B. Mulbah, Deputy Minister for Planning at the Ministry of Mines and Energy. The address emphasized the critical role of faith actors in championing climate justice and mobilizing communities toward sustainable practices.
- Speeches and Remarks: Various dignitaries and participants shared insights on the role of interfaith collaboration in addressing the global climate crisis.
Installation of Officers
The ceremony included the formal installation of officers for the Liberia Chapter of the African Faith Actors Network for Climate Justice.

Tree Planting Activity
As a symbolic gesture of commitment, participants planted trees and to sustain the trees to mark the beginning of the Liberia Chapter’s journey toward achieving its climate justice goals. This activity represented hope, growth, and a shared vision for a sustainable future.
