The Liberian pilgrims currently in Mina are resting and spiritually preparing for the most significant day of the Hajj — the Day of Arafat, which will take place tomorrow, June 5, 2025 (9th Dhul Hijjah).
After arriving safely in Mina on June 4, the pilgrims settled into their tents, joining millions of Muslims from around the world in observing Yawm at-Tarwiyah (Day of Quenching Thirst). This day is traditionally spent in prayer, reflection, and rest, as it precedes the physically and spiritually demanding journey to Mount Arafat.
The Day of Arafat is the pinnacle of the Hajj pilgrimage, where pilgrims will stand in worship from noon until sunset at the Plain of Arafat, seeking Allah’s mercy and forgiveness. It is believed that Hajj is not complete without standing at Arafat.
As the Liberian delegation, under the coordination of the National Muslim Council of Liberia, rests in Mina tonight, they are:
- Reviewing their spiritual intentions (niyyah)
- Engaging in dhikr (remembrance of Allah) and recitation of the Qur’an
- Receiving final instructions from Hajj guides and group leaders
- Hydrating and preparing physically for tomorrow’s journey
We pray that Allah grants us strength, safety, and an accepted Hajj (Hajj Mabroor).
