The National Muslim Council of Liberia, through a transparent and inclusive selection process, has successfully vetted and selected two outstanding students to represent Liberia in an upcoming international Qur’anic competition to be held in Egypt.

The selection process was initiated following an invitation from the Egyptian Embassy near Monrovia, which graciously offered two slots for Liberian Muslim students to participate in the prestigious competition. The opportunity was open to all Muslims across Liberia, and the response was overwhelmingly positive.

After a rigorous vetting and evaluation exercise, two students emerged with flying colors, earning the honor to represent Liberia on the international stage. Their success reflects the strength of Qur’anic education and scholarship within the country.

The vetting committee comprised respected Islamic scholars:

  • Imaam Abass Kanneh, Grand Mufti of the Republic of Liberia
  • Imaam Salleh A. Kanneh, Head of the Body of Imaams
  • Imaam Abdullai Kromah, Deputy Mufti of Liberia among others

The National Muslim Council of Liberia extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Egyptian Embassy for this invaluable opportunity and commends the vetting committee for their professionalism and dedication in ensuring a fair and merit-based process.

Liberia looks forward to proudly participating in the competition and continuing to strengthen ties with the broader Muslim world through educational and spiritual exchange.
