Liberia was proudly represented in Mauritania, Nouakchott during a five-day West African Qur’anic competition held from October 14-19, 2024. The Liberian delegation comprised Student Ahmadou Bachie Diallo and Student Ibrahim Bah, both of whom showcased exceptional talent and dedication. They were accompanied by Mr. A. F. Kuku Reeves, Secretary General of the National Muslim Council of Liberia.
Although the Liberian team did not secure any of the top prizes, their performance was commendable, and they flew the flag of Liberia high among fellow West African nations. The competition, organized by the Republic of Mauritania, brought together participants from across the West African subregion in a spirit of unity and Qu’anic memorization.
The National Muslim Council of Liberia expresses its gratitude to the organizers-Saudi Arabia for the opportunity to participate in such a prestigious event. However, we strongly believe that future editions of this competition should be hosted within West Africa itself, ensuring broader accessibility and participation for all eligible nations.
Liberia remains committed to promoting Qur’anic education and interfaith engagement across the region
